What counts as a correction
A correction addresses an inaccurate product fact, number, date, source description, calculation, quotation, or statement about the scope of evidence. Spelling and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are handled as routine edits.
How a reported error is reviewed
We compare the disputed passage with the source used for the article and, when necessary, a newer primary record. A company statement alone does not replace an independent record, but it can identify a product version or document that needs to be checked.
How corrections appear
When an error changes the meaning of a conclusion, the article is corrected and the material change is identified on the page. Time-sensitive changes such as a new price, formula, or public test report are marked as updates rather than described as errors in the earlier checked record.
