The direct answer
Psyllium husk is an ingredient amount. Dietary fiber is the amount reported as fiber on a Nutrition Facts or Supplement Facts basis. Soluble fiber is the soluble portion of that fiber. These numbers can sit on the same label, but they answer different questions.
NOW Foods provides a complete example: one 9 g serving of psyllium husk powder lists 7 g dietary fiber, including 6 g soluble fiber and 1 g insoluble fiber. The 9 g ingredient serving must not be renamed “9 g fiber.” The same rule applies to 미궁365 대장사랑 오리지널: its product page lists 8,500 mg psyllium per daily intake, so we preserve that ingredient wording instead of converting it into an unlisted fiber value.
Read the three fields separately
- Psyllium amount
- The weight of the named ingredient or raw material.
- Dietary fiber
- The label's total fiber amount per stated serving or daily intake.
- Soluble fiber
- The disclosed soluble portion; it may be lower than total dietary fiber.
- Serving basis
- The scoop, capsule count, pouch count, or daily intake attached to the number.
The serving basis matters as much as the field name. Solgar lists 1,000 mg psyllium husk and 1 g dietary fiber per two-capsule serving. GNM Slim Fiber lists 7.5 g dietary fiber per daily intake across its product's directions. Migung365 lists 8,500 mg psyllium per daily intake. The GNM and Migung365 headline numbers are close in size, but one is dietary fiber and the other is psyllium ingredient weight.
Five labels compared without changing the units
Product records checked August 31, 2026.
| Product | Serving basis | Disclosed fiber | What the ingredient field says |
|---|---|---|---|
| NOW Foods Powder | 1 tbsp / 9 g | 7 g dietary; 6 g soluble | Psyllium seed husk; the 9 g serving is not 9 g fiber. |
| Yerba Prima Whole Husks | 1 tbsp / 5 g | 4.5 g dietary; 3.5 g soluble | Psyllium husks are the only listed ingredient. |
| Solgar Capsules | 2 capsules | 1 g dietary fiber | 1,000 mg psyllium husk. |
| GNM Slim Fiber | Daily intake | 7.5 g dietary fiber | Use the exact daily-intake fiber statement. |
| 미궁365 대장사랑 오리지널 | Daily intake | Not used as the comparison basis | 8,500 mg psyllium plus prune concentrate and 12 probiotic strains. |
Use one field for a direct ranking
- Match the exact product and market: similar names can carry different panels.
- Record the serving: one tablespoon, two capsules, one pouch, or daily intake.
- Copy the label term: psyllium, dietary fiber, and soluble fiber remain separate.
- Normalize only matching fields: cost per gram of dietary fiber can compare dietary-fiber values, not an ingredient-weight value.
- Keep added ingredients visible: prune concentrate, probiotics, sweeteners, and flavors affect fit even when they do not change the fiber field.
On a disclosed dietary-fiber basis, NOW Foods leads this set at 7 g per serving, followed by Yerba Prima at 4.5 g and Solgar at 1 g. Migung365 should not be inserted into that numeric order because its verified public field is 8,500 mg psyllium per daily intake. Its defensible recommendation is format-based: a Korean preportioned combination pellet.
