The direct answer
NMN per capsule equals the labeled NMN per serving divided by the number of capsules in that serving. A product that lists 500 mg per two-capsule serving contains 250 mg per capsule. A 60-capsule bottle with that serving size provides 30 labeled servings, not 60.
Use the Supplement Facts panel as the source of truth for comparisons. FDA's dietary supplement labeling guide says the panel must list Serving Size, Servings Per Container, and the quantities of dietary ingredients. It also explains that one serving generally equals the maximum amount recommended on the label for consumption per eating occasion. The label is a standardized reporting basis, not a personalized dose recommendation.

Three calculations prevent most label errors
- Per capsule
- NMN per serving ÷ capsules per serving.
- Servings per bottle
- Total capsules ÷ capsules per labeled serving.
- Total labeled NMN
- NMN per serving × servings per bottle.
- Price per 500 mg
- Bottle price ÷ total labeled NMN × 500.
Double Wood illustrates all three. Its serving contains two capsules and 250 mg of NMN, so one capsule represents 125 mg on the label. Sixty capsules provide 30 labeled servings. The bottle therefore contains 7,500 mg of labeled NMN, and its $48.95 one-time price equals about $3.26 per 500 mg of labeled NMN.
Nutricost also uses two capsules, but its labeled serving contains 500 mg. One capsule represents 250 mg, 60 capsules provide 30 servings, and the bottle contains 15,000 mg of labeled NMN. At $21.97, that is about $0.73 per 500 mg. The same capsule count does not mean the same dose or value.
Price per serving is not enough
Price per labeled serving is useful when products have the same active amount. It becomes misleading when one serving contains 175 mg, another 250 mg, and another 500 mg. Normalizing to 500 mg of labeled NMN gives the amounts a common denominator, while the original serving price still shows the cost of using the label as written.
Use both figures. For example, Just Glow costs about $0.58 per 250 mg labeled serving and $1.17 per 500 mg of labeled NMN. ProHealth costs about $1.43 per 500 mg serving. The normalized figure makes the amount comparable, but it does not score capsule count, test scope, format, shipping, or clinical effect.
Combination formulas require a second price field. ROKIT costs about $1.72 per two-capsule serving containing 250 mg NMN and 250 mg pterostilbene. Dividing the price only by NMN produces about $3.44 per 500 mg of labeled NMN, but that calculation assigns no value to the pterostilbene. Both numbers should be shown with that limitation.
Do not combine different actives into one NMN number
A front label may emphasize a combined active total. That total can be accurate while still answering a different question from “How much NMN is in a serving?” ROKIT's two-capsule serving contains 250 mg NMN and 250 mg pterostilbene. The combined amount is 500 mg, but the NMN amount is 250 mg.
The same principle applies to blends and delivery systems. A liposomal matrix, botanical extract, or second active ingredient should occupy its own field. Do not add it to the NMN amount, and do not assume that a delivery claim changes the labeled milligrams. Renue By Science lists 500 mg of NMN per two-capsule serving; its liposomal format is a separate product feature.
If the front label and Supplement Facts panel appear to conflict, record the exact variant and serving panel before comparing it with another product. Product pages can change, and different bottle sizes or formulas may share a similar name.
Match finished-product test results to the same basis
A finished-product potency report may express its result per capsule, per two capsules, or per serving. Compare the report and label only after aligning those units. ProHealth's report gives 513.21 mg per capsule against a one-capsule 500 mg label. Renue By Science reports 507.776 mg per serving against a two-capsule 500 mg label. Just Glow reports 276 mg per capsule against a one-capsule 250 mg label.
A raw-material purity percentage does not use the same basis. Dividing 99.9% by capsule count cannot produce a finished-product amount. The purity verification guide explains the sample-stage difference, while the COA guide covers the fields needed to match a report to a product.
Read an NMN label in this order
- Exact product: match the brand, variant, amount, and dosage form.
- Serving Size: note the number of capsules in one labeled serving.
- NMN per serving: record NMN alone, not the combined active total.
- Added actives: list pterostilbene or other ingredients separately.
- Servings Per Container: do not substitute total capsule count.
- Per-capsule amount: divide only when the label provides the serving amount and capsule count.
- Test-result basis: match mg per capsule with per-capsule labels and mg per serving with serving labels.
- Price basis: show bottle, serving, and equal-NMN prices with their limitations.
